Canada’s
best-selling soymilks to contribute $20,000 in April
in support of child nutrition programs across the nation
Vancouver, BC – March 26, 2002 – SoyaWorld Inc, the maker of So Good and
So Nice soymilk, today announced another great reason to enjoy soy.
During April, Soyfoods Month, each purchase of So Good and So Nice
soymilk will help provide children in communities nationwide with a
healthy start to their day. SoyaWorld will donate $20,000 from sales of
So Good and So Nice soymilks to BREAKFAST FOR LEARNING, Canadian Living
Foundation.
“Our vision is that every child in Canada attends school well nourished
and ready to learn,” says Kate MacDonald, Executive Director of
BREAKFAST FOR LEARNING.
“So Good and So Nice soymilks are a healthy and good tasting choice for
kids, and that’s why we’re so pleased to work with SoyaWorld to help
build awareness for the healthy benefits of soy.”
So Good and So Nice soy beverages, fortified with 14 essential vitamins
and minerals, have equivalent levels of calcium and Vitamin D as dairy
milk. Available in a variety of flavours such as chocolate and vanilla,
the soy beverages appeal to kids’ taste buds and are a good source of
soy protein, an important part of a healthy diet.
Soymilk is quickly making its way into Canadian kitchens. Last year
alone, we consumed more than 28 million litres of soymilk, making it one
of the fastest growing grocery categories.
“We are very excited to work with BREAKFAST FOR LEARNING in supporting
and promoting child nutrition,” says Maheb Nathoo, President and CEO of
SoyaWorld. “This partnership is a great opportunity for us to educate
families about the importance of healthy eating while providing
financial support to this meaningful organization.”
BREAKFAST FOR LEARNING, Canadian Living Foundation supports child
nutrition programs in more than 3,685 Canadian communities, and has
served more than 110 million meals since being founded in 1992.
BREAKFAST FOR LEARNING not only provides grants to fund the nutrition
programs, but also provides educational resources and community
development support to educate kids, teachers and parents about healthy
eating.
SoyaWorld’s financial contribution towards BREAKFAST FOR LEARNING will
help fund child nutrition programs nationwide, promote nutrition
education and provide resources and delicious breakfast recipes to kids,
parents and schools.
SoyaWorld Inc., based in Vancouver, British Columbia, is North America’s
leading manufacturer of fresh soy beverages. Both the So Good and So
Nice soymilk brands combine all the nutritional qualities and
convenience of milk, with all the added health benefits of soy protein.
